Disability Polital Literacy (Small)

We are very excited to have the wonderful Emily Bieber offer her knowledge over a series of workshops in 2021. Her background as a political candidate, Social Policy teacher (at LaTrobe University) and active community member, makes her a good fit for people with disability who want to expand their political knowledge.
The initial focus group to codesign the course will be run on the 20 April, 7.00 - 8.30pm. This is a chance for you to guide Emily on what she should cover in the sessions and how to run them.
The course will be offered to people with disability for free and be run on the 3rd Tuesday of every month for 6 sessions.

Those dates are 18 May, 8 June**, 20 July, 17 August, 21 Sept and 19 Oct. (** note: in June the session will be on the second Tuesday because of the Having a Say conference).

It could cover things like:

  • was does left and right wing mean?
  • what does a prime minister do?
  • how to vote?
  • what are the different levels of gov?
  • how do I contact my local MP?
  • how do I know who to vote for?

If you are interested in either or both of the codesign workshop on 20 April, or enrolling in the course, please contact Lucie on 03 9434 6717.
